Maybe 2020 was a blessing in disguise…
The strong gust of wind blowing across the United States on the morning of Nov. 6, 2024, originated from most voters breathing a huge sigh of relief. Trump had won the presidential election decisively in a true landslide, with both the electoral college and the popular votes going for Trump! This win could be described (in Trump-speak) as BIGLY! Trump received 312 electoral votes to Harris’s 226. The Republicans won the Senate 53 to 47 and the House 219 to 213. The popular vote currently shows Trump at 76,733,140 with Harris millions of votes behind.
The American people knew the country was in deep trouble from within and voted accordingly. If Harris had beaten Trump, she would have continued the same disastrous policies of the Biden/Harris Administration and then some. Instead, voters spoke to put an end to bullying Marxist policies. To put an end to the insanity the left has imposed upon the nation as the new norm. To put an end to the downward spiral of our great country. Biden and Harris should take Obama and Soros with them on their way out. Buh Bye!
In retrospect, the Trump “loss” in the 2020 election seemingly occurred for a reason. The United States' “shining light” has been dimmed, and the world is teetering on the brink of WWIII. Americans have lived through the Biden term and really felt the pain. They needed to experience exactly WHAT the Biden years had in store to truly realize they did not want any part of such. A liberal slap in the face to many Americans.
Since Biden became president, identity politics has been more important than solving any problems. The Democrats in power did not care about the people they were elected to represent – which was demonstrated by open borders, unabated lawlessness, energy dependence on others, enemies growing stronger, wars flaring up around the globe, and inflation running amok, just to name a few examples.
One key issue that really shocked many people was the nefarious distortion of biology and facts, encouraging children to mutilate their bodies to become something they were not. The American people did not want the trans movement shoved down their throats. The Democrats showed disdain for the family, labeling concerned parents “domestic terrorists.”
Christianity – never a favorite of the left - and the Jews – were and are targets of hatred. Many Americans did not like billions of taxpayer dollars flowing to pay for the war in Ukraine (hopefully, that faucet will be turned off soon, and Zelensky will be forced to start a GoFundMe page).
Any ideas, facts, or opinions that did not go along with the left’s policies were attacked. Freedom and free expression were not allowed, with the media manipulating “news” to fulfill specific liberal agendas. Social media sites like Facebook policed comments to shut down Republican thought or facts and pity the fool who questioned anything having to do with COVID and/or the jabs! Lest anyone ever forget, all of this was done by the very same people wringing their hands about “saving democracy.” Well, the American voters really did SAVE democracy on November 5th!
So, the Trump “loss” in 2020 appears to have been a blessing. The American people would not have been as receptive to another Trump presidency back then as they are now. Call it Trump fatigue after his first term. Many of “the swamp” in Washington D.C. (which includes members of both political parties, as well as federal agencies) made it their mission to attack Trump while he was in office the first time, and such undermining would have continued.
The weaponization of governmental agencies would never have been addressed. He would not have had the mandate he has now, nor the knowledge of how deep the deep state is. As president, he would have had a continual fight on his hands, with Chuck Schumer still in charge of the Senate and Pelosi running the House. More impeachments and lawsuits would have loomed.
The perfect storm hit on November 5th, 2024. How the political landscape has changed from what it would have been had Trump won in 2020. Now Trump has a mandate. He is putting the right people in the right places in his administration - people who are NOT part of the Washington establishment or elites. He is more knowledgeable about how D.C. works and how to drain the swamp. He can go after federal agencies that have become weaponized, as well as lawfare.
Trump also has the Senate and the House under Republican control. He can undo all of Biden’s executive orders, (on day one of his presidency his pen may run out of ink). Trump has the staunch support of most Americans. The mainstream media has become irrelevant – as American voters chose to ignore their cries of “wolf” (or “Hitler”). Shows like MSNBC and CNN are hemorrhaging even more viewers than before.
The New York Times and other newspapers don’t have the influential power they once had, given how blatant their liberal bias has become. Political correctness and the ability to silence people is gone, thanks to X (and Elon Musk) and podcasters like Joe Rogan. Wokeness and DEI will hopefully be put to rest in the graveyard of bad liberal activism.
In addition, there is the potential for even more winning - two United States Supreme Court justices may be getting ready to retire. Justice Samuel Alito Jr. is 74 years old. Justice Clarence Thomas is 76. During President Trump's upcoming presidency, Trump may be able to nominate one (or two) conservative justices. The United States Supreme Court would remain in conservative hands – which would be a huge win. Imagine being able to ensure that the country has a Supreme Court that will uphold the Constitution rather than legislate from the bench!
Making America Great Again is back – and better than ever. While most Americans were extremely disappointed with the Trump “loss” of 2020,” that loss WAS, in hindsight, a real gift. Christmas came early for many Americans. What a wonderful way to end the year and propel feelings of optimism and hope into 2025 and beyond.
