Senator Ron Johnson to Speak at Concordia University [FREE EVENT]

The Young Americans for Freedom chapter at Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin, will host conservative icon and Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson to speak this Friday, April 19th, at 10:00 A.M. The event is one of many impressive speaker events held by the young conservative group, which started on campus in the fall of last year.  This is your chance to ask your senator a question! In addition to speaking, Senator Johnson will answer audience questions. Folks and students from left, right, and center will be in attendance to meet the senator.  “This is such an important event because, especially right now, the people of Wisconsin are feeling disconnected from the happenings in D.C. By providing the opportunity for young people to speak to their senator, we are helping them elevate their voices in our American democracy,” said Nick Taylor, chairman of the Young Americans for Freedom chapter. He continued, “Also, Wisconsin is arguably the most vital swing state in this election cycle, so it’s important to get people motivated and educated.”   The event is free to attend and will be held in the Terrace Room, room 114, located on the second floor of the Albrecht building at Concordia University in Mequon. A federal prisoner was charged on Friday with attempted murder in the brutal prison stabbing of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of killing George Floyd. Prosecutors say John Turscak, 52, stabbed Chauvin 22 times in the law library at the Tucson Federal Correctional Institution in Arizona with an improvised knife. Turscak was charged with attempted murder, assault with the intent to commit murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault resulting in bodily injury. Turscak told correctional officers that he would have killed Chauvin had they not responded so quickly. Officers used pepper spray to subdue Turscak. Turscak would later tell FBI agents that he attacked Chauvin on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, because it ws was symbolic with the Black Lives Matter movement and the “Black Hand” symbol associated with the Mexican mafia gang, the complaint says. Federal Probe Centers on Milwaukee City Council Approval Of Concert Facility In Deer District: Mark Belling

By Mark Belling, WISN-AM A federal grand jury investigation is focusing on approval by the Milwaukee Common Council of the proposed concert venue to be built near Fiserv Forum in the Deer District. The existence of the federal probe was first reported by me on Friday November 10. I have learned that the ongoing probe is focused on two Milwaukee aldermen who reversed their original opposition to the project. I am not naming the aldermen as they have not been charged but I am aware of who they are. The 4,000 seat concert venue is to be built by Madison's Frank Productions, which is owned by the national music promoter Live Nation. The president of Frank Productions is Joel Plant. The firm retained prominent lobbyist Buddy Julius in the weeks before it obtained council approval. The land on which the facility is to be built is owned by the Milwaukee Bucks. List of American Hostages Still Held by Hamas: Why Don't We All Know Their Names?

We're old enough to remember when American hostages held by terrorist groups overseas were big national stories, their names known by every American through wall-to-wall media coverage; their release sought through aggressive pressure by U.S. presidents, local politicians, and the media. Terry Anderson , the Associated Press journalist kidnapped by Hezbollah in 1985, comes to mind. Or Kevin Hermening, A hostage held captive during the Iranian hostage crisis. Or Daniel Pearl , murdered after being taken hostage in Pakistan. Yet it's surprisingly extremely difficult to find a list of the six Americans held hostage by Hamas, as of Jan. 19, if you don't already know their names. Their names should have immediate household recognition by now; the U.S. government should be doing everything in its power to secure their release.
